Chapter 23
Narrated Abu Bakr bin Abi Musa Al-Ash'ari: I heard my father saying in the presence of the enemy: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed, the gates of Paradise are under the shadows of the swords.' A man among the people with ragged appearance said: 'Have you heard what you mentioned from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ?' He said: 'Yes.' So he returned to his comrades and bid them Salam (farewell), broke the sheath of his sword, and began fighting with it until he was killed. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Sahih Gharib. We do not know it except as a narration of Ja'far bin Sulaiman [Ad-Dubai']. (One of the narrators) Abu 'Imran Al-Jawni's name is 'Abdul Malik bin Habib. As for Abu Bakr bin Abi Musa, Ahmad bin Hanbal said: That is his name.
ابوبکر بن ابوموسیٰ اشعری کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نے دشمنوں کی موجودگی میں اپنے باپ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بیشک جنت کے دروازے تلواروں کی چھاؤں میں ہیں“ ۱؎، قوم میں سے ایک پراگندہ ہیئت والے شخص نے پوچھا: کیا آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کو بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، چنانچہ وہ آدمی لوٹ کر اپنے ساتھیوں کے پاس گیا اور بولا: میں تم سب کو سلام کرتا ہوں، پھر اس نے اپنی تلوار کی نیام توڑ دیا اور اس سے لڑائی کرتا رہا یہاں تک کہ وہ شہید ہو گیا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف جعفر بن سلیمان ضبعی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں۔
Narrated Abu Sa’id Al Khudri : that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: Which of the people are most virtuous? He said: A man who take part in Jihad in Allah's cause. They said: Then whom? He said: Then a believer who stays in one of the mountains path out of Taqwa for his Lord, leaving the people secure from his evil. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا: کون آدمی افضل ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”وہ شخص جو اللہ کے راستے میں جہاد کرتا ہے“، صحابہ نے پوچھا: پھر کون؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”پھر وہ مومن جو کسی گھاٹی میں اکیلا ہو اور اپنے رب سے ڈرے اور لوگوں کو اپنے شر سے بچائے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Narrated Anas bin Malik: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: None of the people of Paradise would wish to return to the world except for the martyr who indeed would love to return to the world saying that he would love to be killed ten times in Allah's cause because of what he has seen of the honor that He has given him. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”شہید کے علاوہ کوئی جنتی ایسا نہیں ہے جو دنیا کی طرف لوٹنا چاہتا ہو وہ دنیا کی طرف لوٹنا چاہتا ہے، کہتا ہے: ( دل چاہتا ہے کہ ) اللہ کی راہ میں دس مرتبہ قتل کیا جاؤں، یہ اس وجہ سے کہ وہ اس مقام کو دیکھ چکا ہے جس سے اللہ نے اس کو نوازا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Another chain from Anas, from the Prophet (ﷺ) with similar in its meaning. [Abu 'Eisa said: ] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
اس سند سے بھی
انس رضی الله عنہ سے اسی جیسی حدیث مروی ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Narrated Al-Miqdam bin Ma'diykarib: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There are six things with Allah for the martyr. He is forgiven with the first flow of blood (he suffers), he is shown his place in Paradise, he is protected from punishment in the grave, secured from the greatest terror, the crown of dignity is placed upon his head - and its gems are better than the world and what is in it - he is married to seventy two wives along Al-Huril-'Ayn of Paradise, and he may intercede for seventy of his close relatives. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
مقدام بن معدیکرب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ کے نزدیک شہید کے لیے چھ انعامات ہیں، ( ۱ ) خون کا پہلا قطرہ گرنے کے ساتھ ہی اس کی مغفرت ہو جاتی ہے، ( ۲ ) وہ جنت میں اپنی جگہ دیکھ لیتا ہے، ( ۳ ) عذاب قبر سے محفوظ رہتا ہے، ( ۴ ) «فزع الأكبر» ( عظیم گھبراہٹ والے دن ) سے مامون رہے گا، ( ۵ ) اس کے سر پر عزت کا تاج رکھا جائے گا جس کا ایک یاقوت دنیا اور اس کی ساری چیزوں سے بہتر ہے، ( ۶ ) بہتر ( ۷۲ ) جنتی حوروں سے اس کی شادی کی جائے گی، اور اس کے ستر رشتہ داروں کے سلسلے میں اس کی شفاعت قبول کی جائے گی“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے۔
Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: (Ribat) Guarding the frontier for a day in the cause of Allah is better than the world and what is in it. And an afternoon the worshipper spends in the cause of Allah - or a morning - is better than the world and what is on it. And the space occupied by the whip of one of you in Paradise is better than the world and what is on it. This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
سہل بن سعد رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ کی راہ میں سرحد کی ایک دن کی پاسبانی کرنا دنیا اور اس کی ساری چیزوں سے بہتر ہے، تم میں سے کسی کے کوڑے کے برابر جنت کی جگہ دنیا اور دنیا کی ساری چیزوں سے بہتر ہے اور بندے کا اللہ کی راہ میں صبح یا شام کے وقت چلنا دنیا اور اس کی ساری چیزوں سے بہتر ہے“۔
Narrated Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir: Salman Al-Farisi passed by Shurahbil bin As-Simt while he was in garrison in which he and his companions were suffering from difficulties. He said to him: 'Shall I narrate to you - O Ibn As-Simt - a Hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ?' He said: 'Of course.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: (Ribat) Guarding the frontier for a day in the cause of Allah is more virtuous - and perhaps he said: better, than fasting a month and standing (in prayer) for it. And whoever dies in it, he is protected from the trials of the grave, and his deeds (continuously) multiplied until the Day of Resurrection. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan.
محمد بن منکدر کہتے ہیں کہ
سلمان فارسی رضی الله عنہ شرحبیل بن سمط کے پاس سے گزرے، وہ اپنے «مرابط» ( سرحد پر پاسبانی کی جگہ ) میں تھے، ان پر اور ان کے ساتھیوں پر وہاں رہنا گراں گزر رہا تھا، سلمان فارسی رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: ابن سمط؟ کیا میں تم سے وہ حدیث بیان نہ کروں جسے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: کیوں نہیں، سلمان رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: ”اللہ کی راہ میں ایک دن کی پاسبانی ایک ماہ روزہ رکھنے اور تہجد پڑھنے سے افضل ہے، آپ نے «أفضل» کی بجائے کبھی «خير» ( بہتر ہے ) کا لفظ کہا: اور جو شخص اس حالت میں وفات پا گیا، وہ عذاب قبر سے محفوظ رہے گا اور قیامت تک اس کا عمل بڑھایا جائے گا“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever meets Allah without any traces from Jihad he meets Allah with a defect. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Gharib as a narration of Al-Walid bin Muslim from Isma'il bin Rafi'. Isma'il bin Rafi' was graded weak by some of the people of Hadith. I heard Muhammad saying: He is trustworthy, average (Muqarib) in Hadith. This Hadith has been reported from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet (ﷺ) through other than this route. Regarding the Hadith of Salman, its chain is not connected, Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir did not see Salman Al-Farisi. This Hadith has been reported from Ayyub bin Musa, from Makhul, from Shurahbil bin As-Simt from Salman, from the Prophet (ﷺ).
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص جہاد کے کسی اثر کے بغیر اللہ تعالیٰ سے ملے ۱؎ تو وہ اس حال میں اللہ سے ملے گا کہ اس کے اندر خلل ( نقص و عیب ) ہو گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث ولید بن مسلم کے واسطے سے اسماعیل بن رافع کی روایت سے ضعیف ہے، بعض محدثین نے اسماعیل بن رافع کی تضعیف کی ہے، میں نے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری کو کہتے سنا: اسماعیل ثقہ ہیں، مقارب الحدیث ہیں، ۲- یہ حدیث دوسری سند سے بھی ابوہریرہ کے واسطہ سے مرفوع طریقہ سے آئی ہے، ۳- سلمان کی حدیث کی سند متصل نہیں ہے۔ محمد بن منکدر نے سلمان کو نہیں پایا ہے، یہ حدیث «عن أيوب بن موسى عن مكحول عن شرحبيل بن السمط عن سلمان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» کی سند سے بھی مروی ہے۔
Narrated Abu Salih, the Freed slave of Uthman : I heard Uthman while on the Minbar saying: 'I did not inform you about a Hadith I had heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), out of dismay that you might part from me. Then it occurred to me that I should narrate to you so that one may choose from these matters accordingly. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: (Ribat) Guarding the frontier for a day in Allah's cause is beter in status than thousand days doing other than that.' [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih Gharib. Muhammad bin Ism'ail said: Abu Salih, the freed slave of 'Uthman's name is Burkan.
ابوصالح مولیٰ عثمان کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نے منبر پر عثمان رضی الله عنہ کو کہتے سنا: میں نے تم لوگوں سے ایک حدیث چھپا لی تھی جسے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے اس ڈر کی وجہ سے کہ تم مجھ سے جدا ہو جاؤ گے ۱؎ پھر میری سمجھ میں آیا کہ میں تم لوگوں سے اسے بیان کر دوں تاکہ ہر آدمی اپنے لیے وہی چیز اختیار کرے جو اس کی سمجھ میں آئے، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: ”اللہ کی راہ میں ایک دن سرحد کی پاسبانی کرنا دوسری جگہوں کے ایک ہزار دن کی پاسبانی سے بہتر ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔
Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The martyr does not sense the touch of death except as one of you senses the touch of a (bug) bite. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib Sahih.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”شہید کو قتل سے صرف اتنی ہی تکلیف ہوتی ہے جتنی تکلیف تم میں سے کسی کو چٹکی لینے سے ہوتی ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔
Narrated Abu Umamah: That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is nothing more beloved to Allah than two drops and two traces: A teardrop shed out of fear of Allah, and a drop of blood shed in Allah's cause. As for the two traces: A trace resulting in Allah's cause, and and a trace resulting from one of the duties that Allah made obligatory. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib.
ابوامامہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ کو دو قطروں اور دو نشانیوں سے زیادہ کوئی چیز محبوب نہیں ہے: آنسو کا ایک قطرہ جو اللہ کے خوف کی وجہ سے نکلے اور دوسرا خون کا وہ قطرہ جو اللہ کے راستہ میں بہے، دو نشانیوں میں سے ایک نشانی وہ ہے جو اللہ کی راہ میں لگے اور دوسری نشانی وہ ہے جو اللہ کے فرائض میں سے کسی فریضہ کی ادائیگی کی حالت میں لگے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے۔
