Chapter 38
It was narrated that Anas said: Eighty men from 'Ukl came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and he (the narrator) mentioned a similar report up to the words: And he did not have (their wounds) cauterized. And he said: They killed the herdsman.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس قبیلہ عکل کے آٹھ آدمی آئے، پھر انہوں نے اسی طرح «لم يحسمهم» ان کے زخموں کو داغا نہیں تک بیان کیا اور «فقتلوا راعيها» کے بجائے «قتلوا الراعي» کہا۔
It was narrated that Anas said: A group of men from 'Ukl, or 'Uraynah, came to the Prophet [SAW], and when the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them, he told them to go to some camels and drink their milk and urine. Then they killed the herdsman and stole the camels. He sent (men) after them, and had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes gouged out.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس قبیلہ عکل یا عرینہ کے چند آدمی آئے، انہیں جب مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہیں آئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اونٹوں کا یا دودھ والی اونٹنیوں کا دودھ اور پیشاب پینے کا حکم دیا، تو انہوں نے چرواہے کو قتل کیا اور اونٹ ہانک لے گئے۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کی تلاش میں کچھ لوگوں کو روانہ کیا اور ان کے ہاتھ پیر کاٹ دیے، اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں۔
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that: Some people from 'Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW], but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them. The Prophet [SAW] sent them to some camels of his, and he drank some of their milk and urine. When they recovered, they apostatized from Islam and killed the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], who was a believer, and drove the camels off. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent (men) after them, and they were caught. He had their hands and feet cut off, their eyes gouged out, and had them crucified.
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہیں آئی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں اپنے اونٹوں کے پاس بھیجا، انہوں نے ان کا دودھ اور پیشاب پیا، جب وہ اچھے ہو گئے تو اسلام سے پھر گئے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے کچھ لوگ روانہ کئے، تو انہیں گرفتار کر لیا گیا، پھر ان کے ہاتھ پاؤں کاٹ دیے گئے اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دی گئیں اور انہیں سولی پر چڑھا دیا گیا ۱؎۔
It was narrated that Anas said: Some people from 'Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to them: 'Why don't you go out to our camels and stay with them and drink their milk and urine?' So they did that, and when they recovered, they went to the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and killed him, reverted to being disbelievers, and drove off the camels of the Prophet [SAW]. He sent (men) after them, and they were brought to him. He had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes gouged out.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ آئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: اگر تم سب ہمارے اونٹوں میں جا کر رہتے، ان کا دودھ اور پیشاب پیتے ( تو اچھا ہوتا ) چنانچہ انہوں نے ایسا ہی کیا، پھر جب وہ اچھے ہو گئے تو انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چرواہے کو جا کر قتل کر دیا اور کافر و مرتد ہو گئے اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، آپ نے ان کی تلاش میں کچھ لوگ روانہ کئے، چنانچہ وہ سب گرفتار کر کے لائے گئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے ہاتھ اور پیر کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھوں کو گرم سلائی سے پھوڑ دیا۔
It was narrated that Anas said: Some people from 'Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW], but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to them: 'Why don't you go out to our camels and drink their milk?' - (one of the narrators) Qatadah said: 'And their urine.' - So they went out to the camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], but when they recovered they killed the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], who was a believer, and drove off the camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and left as those at war. He sent (men) after them and they were caught. Then he had their hands and feet cut off, and branded their eyes.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہیں آئی، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: اگر تم جاتے اور ہمارے اونٹوں کا دودھ پیتے ( تو اچھا ہوتا ) ( قتادہ نے «البانہا» ( دودھ ) کے بجائے «ابو الہا» ( پیشاب ) کہا ہے ) چنانچہ وہ لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اونٹوں کے پاس گئے جب اچھے ہو گئے تو اسلام لانے کے بعد کافر ( مرتد ) ہو گئے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مسلمان چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا اور آپ کے اونٹ ہانک لے گئے اور جنگجو ( لڑنے والے ) بن کر گئے۔ آپ نے ان کی تلاش میں کچھ لوگوں کو بھیجا تو وہ گرفتار کر لیے گئے، آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ پیر کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھوں کو گرم سلائی سے پھوڑ دیا ۔
It was narrated that Anas said: Some people from 'Uraynah became Muslim, but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to them: 'Why don't you go out to some camels of ours and drink their milk?' - (one of the narrators) Humaid said: And Qatadah said, narrating from Anas: 'And their urine.' - So they did that, and when they recovered they reverted to disbelief after their Islam, killed the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], who was a believer, drove off the camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and fled as those at war. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent someone to bring them and they were caught. He had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes branded, then he left them in Al-Harrah until they died.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ اسلام لائے تو انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہیں آئی، چنانچہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: اگر تم لوگ ہمارے اونٹوں میں جاتے اور ان کا دودھ پیتے ( تو اچھا ہوتا ) ، ( حمید کہتے ہیں: قتادہ نے انس سے «البانہا» ( دودھ کے ) بجائے «ابو الہا» ( پیشاب ) روایت کی ہے۔ ) انہوں نے ایسا ہی کیا، پھر جب وہ ٹھیک ہو گئے تو اسلام لانے کے بعد کافر و مرتد ہو گئے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مسلمان چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا، اور آپ کے اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے اور جنگجو بن کر نکلے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں گرفتار کرنے کے لیے کچھ لوگ بھیجے، چنانچہ وہ سب گرفتار کر لیے گئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے ہاتھ پاؤں کاٹ دیے، ان کی آنکھیں گرم سلائی سے پھوڑ دیں، اور انہیں حرہ ( مدینے کے پاس پتھریلی زمین ) میں چھوڑ دیا یہاں تک کہ وہ سب مر گئے۔
Anas bin Malik narrated that: Some people or some men from 'Ukl, or 'Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: O Messenger of Allah, we are herdsmen, not tillers, the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them. So the Messenger of Allah [SAW] ordered that they be allocated some camels and a herdsman, and he told them to go out with them and drink their milk and urine. When they recovered and they were in the vicinity of Al-Harrah, they reverted to disbelief after their Islam, killed the herdsman of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and drove off the camels. He sent (men) after them and they were brought, and he had their eyes gouged out, and their hands and feet cut off. Then he left them in Al-Harrah in that state until they died.
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
قبیلہ عکل یا عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور بولے: اللہ کے رسول! ہم مویشی والے لوگ ہیں ناکہ کھیت والے۔ انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہ آئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے لیے کچھ اونٹوں اور ایک چرواہے کا حکم دیا اور ان سے وہاں جانے کے لیے کہا تاکہ وہ ان کے دودھ اور پیشاب پی کر صحت یاب ہو سکیں، جب وہ ٹھیک ہو گئے ( وہ حرہ کے ایک گوشے میں تھے۔ ) تو اسلام سے پھر کر کافر ( و مرتد ) ہو گئے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مسلمان چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، آپ نے ان کے پیچھے کچھ لوگوں کو بھیجا، تو وہ گرفتار کر کے لائے گئے، آپ نے ان کی آنکھیں گرم سلائی سے پھوڑ دیں، ان کے ہاتھ پاؤں کاٹ دیے اور پھر انہیں حرہ میں ان کے حال پر چھوڑ دیا یہاں تک کہ وہ سب مر گئے۔

It was narrated from Anas that : Some people from 'Uraynah camped in Al-Harrah and came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. The climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them, so the Messenger of Allah [SAW] told them to go and stay near the camels that had been given in Sadaqah, and to drink their milk and urine. Then they killed the herdsman and apostatized from Islam, and drove off the camels. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent (men) after them, who brought them, then he had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes gouged out, and left them in Al-Harrah. Anas said: I saw one of them biting at the ground from thirst, until they died.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ لوگ حرہ میں ٹھہرے، پھر وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہ آئی، تو آپ نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ صدقے کے اونٹوں میں جا کر ان کے دودھ اور پیشاب پیئیں، تو انہوں نے چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا، اسلام سے پھر گئے اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے کچھ لوگوں کو بھیجا، انہیں پکڑ کر لایا گیا تو آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ پاؤں کاٹ دئیے، آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں اور انہیں حرہ میں ڈال دیا۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے ان میں سے ایک کو دیکھا کہ وہ پیاس کی وجہ سے زمین سے اپنے منہ کو رگڑ رہا تھا، ( یعنی زمین کو اپنے منہ سے چاٹ رہا تھا ) یہاں تک کہ سب مر گئے۔
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: Some Bedouin from 'Uraynah came to the Prophet of Allah [SAW] and accepted Islam, but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them; their skin turned yellow and their bellies became swollen. The Prophet of Allah sent them to some milk camels of his and told them to drink their milk and urine until they recovered. Then they killed their herdsmen and drove off the camels. The Prophet of Allah sent (men) after them and they were brought back, then he had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes were branded. The Commander of the Believers, 'Abdul-Malik, said to Anas, when he was narrating this Hadith: Was that (punishment) for Kufr or for sin? He said: For Kufr.
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ اعرابی ( دیہاتی ) نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور اسلام قبول کیا، انہیں مدینے کی آب و ہوا راس نہیں آئی، یہاں تک کہ ان کے رنگ پیلے پڑ گئے، ان کے پیٹ پھول گئے تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں دودھ والی اونٹنیوں کے پاس بھیجا اور انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ ان کا دودھ اور پیشاب پئیں، یہاں تک کہ جب وہ ٹھیک ہو گئے تو انہوں نے ان چرواہوں کو قتل کر دیا اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کی تلاش میں کچھ لوگ بھیجے، انہیں لایا گیا تو آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ اور پیر کاٹ دیے، اور ان کی آنکھوں میں گرم سلائی پھیر کر ان کو پھوڑ دیا۔ امیر المؤمنین عبدالملک نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا ( وہ ان سے یہ حدیث بیان کر رہے تھے ) : کفر ( ردت ) کی وجہ سے یا جرم کی وجہ سے ( ان کے ساتھ ایسا کیا گیا ) ؟ انہوں نے کہا: کفر ( ردت ) کی وجہ سے۔
It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab said: Some 'Arab people came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and accepted Islam, then they became sick. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent them to some milk camels to drink their milk. While they were with them, they attacked the herdsman, who was a slave of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and killed him. They drove off the camels, and claimed that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] had said: 'O Allah, make thirsty the one who makes the family of Muhammad thirsty tonight.' The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent (men) after them, and they were caught. Then he had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes gouged out. Some of them (the narrators) added more than others, except that in his narration of this Hadith, Mu'awiyah said: They drove them off to the land of Shirk.
تابعی سعید بن المسیب کہتے ہیں کہ
کچھ عرب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور اسلام قبول کیا، پھر وہ بیمار پڑ گئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں دودھ والی اونٹنیوں کے پاس بھیجا تاکہ وہ ان کا دودھ پیئں۔ وہ انہیں اونٹنیوں میں رہے، پھر انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے غلام چرواہے پر نیت خراب کی اور اسے قتل کر دیا اور اونٹنیاں ہانک لے گئے، لوگوں نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ دعا کی: «اللہم عطش من عطش آل محمد الليلة» اے اللہ! اسے پیاسا رکھ جس نے محمد کے گھر والوں کو اس رات پیاسا رکھا ، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کی تلاش میں کچھ لوگ بھیجے۔ جب وہ گرفتار کر لیے گئے تو آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھیں گرم سلائی سے پھوڑ دیں۔ راویوں میں سے بعض دوسرے سے کچھ زیادہ بیان کرتے ہیں، سوائے معاویہ کے، انہوں نے اس حدیث میں کہا ہے کہ وہ ہانک کر مشرکوں کی زمین کی طرف لے گئے۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: Some people raided the milk camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. He caught them and had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes gouged out.
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں
کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اونٹنیوں کو لوٹا تو آپ نے انہیں گرفتار کیا اور ان کے ہاتھ اور پاؤں کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں۔
It was narrated from 'Aishah: Some people raided the milk camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. They were brought to the Prophet [SAW], and the Prophet [SAW] had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes gouged out. This is the wording of Ibn Al-Muthanna.
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ
کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اونٹنیاں لوٹ لیں، انہیں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس لایا گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے ہاتھ اور پاؤں کاٹ دیے، اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں۔
It was narrated from Hisham, from his father, that: Some people raided the camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. He had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes gouged out.
عروہ سے روایت ہے کہ
کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اونٹ لوٹ لیے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے ہاتھ اور پیر کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں۔
It was narrated that 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair said: Some people from 'Uraynah raided the milk camels of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and drove them off, and killed a slave of his. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent (men) after them, and they were caught, and he had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes gouged out.
عروہ بن زبیر کہتے ہیں کہ
قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ لوگوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اونٹنیاں لوٹ لیں، انہیں ہانک لے گئے اور آپ کے غلام کو قتل کر دیا۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے کچھ لوگ روانہ کیے، وہ سب گرفتار کر لیے گئے، تو آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ اور پاؤں کاٹ دیے اور ان کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں۔
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: From the Messenger of Allah [SAW]: The Verse about Al-Muharabah was revealed concerning them.
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ( اسی طرح کا واقعہ ) نقل کرتے ہیں، اور کہتے ہیں کہ انہیں کے سلسلے میں آیت محاربہ نازل ہوئی۔
It was narrated from Abu Az-Zinad that: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] had the (hands and feet) of those who drove off his camels cut off, and their eyes gouged out with fire. Allah rebuked him for that, and Allah, Most High, revealed the entire verse: The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger.
ابوالزناد سے روایت ہے کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جب ان کے ہاتھ کاٹے جن ہوں نے آپ کی اونٹنیاں چرائی تھیں اور آگ سے ان کی آنکھوں کو پھوڑا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس سلسلے میں آپ کی سرزنش کی ۱؎، چنانچہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ مکمل آیت اتاری «إنما جزاء الذين يحاربون اللہ ورسوله» ان لوگوں کا بدلہ جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے لڑتے ہیں … الخ
It was narrated that Anas said: The Prophet [SAW] only had the eyes of those people gouged out, because they had gouged out the eyes of the herdsmen.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان لوگوں کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دیں کیونکہ ان لوگوں نے چرواہوں کی آنکھیں پھوڑ دی تھیں۔
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that: A Jewish man killed an Ansari girl for her jewelry, and threw her in an empty well, and crushed her head with a rock. He was caught and the Messenger of Allah [SAW] ordered that he be stoned to death.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ
ایک یہودی نے ایک انصاری لڑکی کو اس کے زیور کی لالچ میں قتل کر کے، اسے کنوئیں میں پھینک دیا اور اوپر سے اس کا سر پتھروں سے کچل دیا، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حکم دیا کہ اسے پتھروں سے اس طرح مارا جائے کہ وہ مر جائے ۔
It was narrated from Anas that: A man killed an Ansari girl for her jewelry, then he threw her in an empty well, and crushed her head with a rock. The Prophet [SAW] ordered that he be stoned to death.
انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
ایک شخص نے ایک انصاری لڑکی کو اس کے ایک زیور کی لالچ میں قتل کر دیا، پھر اسے ایک کنوئیں میں پھینک دیا اور اس کا سر پتھر سے کچل دیا۔ تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حکم دیا کہ اسے پتھروں سے اس طرح مارا جائے کہ وہ ہلاک ہو جائے ۔
