It was narrated that Al-Bara' said: I have never seen anyone who looked more handsome in a red Hullah than the Messenger of Allah [SAW], with his long hair that came down to his shoulders.

براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نے کسی کو لال جوڑے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے زیادہ خوبصورت نہیں دیکھا، آپ کے بال آپ کے مونڈھوں تک تھے ۱؎۔
Al-Bara' said: I have never seen any man more handsome in a red Hullah than the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. He said: And I saw his long hair, coming almost to his shoulders.

براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نے لال جوڑے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے زیادہ خوبصورت کسی آدمی کو نہیں دیکھا، اور میں نے دیکھا کہ آپ کے بال آپ کے مونڈھوں کے قریب تھے۔
Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: According to whose recitation do you want me to recite? Because I recited seventy-odd Surahs to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] when Zaid had two braids, and was playing with the other boys.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
تم لوگ مجھے کس کی قرأت کے مطابق پڑھنے کے لیے کہتے ہو؟ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ستر سے زائد سورتیں پڑھیں، اس وقت زید ( زید بن ثابت ) کی دو چوٹیاں تھیں، وہ بچوں کے ساتھ کھیل رہے تھے ۱؎۔
It was narrated that Abu Wa'il said: Ibn Mas'ud addressed us and said: 'How do you want me to recite? According to the recitation of Zaid bin Thabit, when I learned seventy-odd Surahs from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] while Zaid was with the other boys with two braids?'

ابووائل شقیق بن سلمہ کہتے ہیں کہ
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے ہم سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ تم لوگ مجھ سے زید بن ثابت کی قرأت کے مطابق پڑھنے کو کہتے ہو ۱؎، اس کے بعد کہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ستر سے زائد کئی سورتیں سن چکا ہوں، اس وقت زید بچوں کے ساتھ تھے، ان کی دو چوٹیاں تھیں؟۔
Ziyad bin Al-Husain narrated that his father said: When he came to the Prophet [SAW] in Al-Madinah, the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to him: 'Come closer to me.' So he came closer to him, and he put his hand on his braid and wiped his head and prayed for him.

حصین رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
جب وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس مدینے میں آئے تو آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: ”میرے قریب آؤ“، وہ آپ کے قریب ہوئے تو آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ ان کی چوٹی پر رکھا اور اپنا ہاتھ پھرایا پھر اللہ کا نام لے کر انہیں دعا دی۔
It was narrated that Wa'il bin Hujr said: I came to the Prophet [SAW] and I had long hair. He said: 'It is not good,' and I thought he meant me, so I went and cut my hair. He said: 'I did not mean you, but this is better.'

وائل بن حجر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس گیا، میرے سر پر لمبے بال تھے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”نحوست ہے“، میں سمجھا کہ آپ کی مراد میں ہی ہوں۔ میں گیا اور اپنے بال کتروا دیئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میری مراد تم نہیں تھے، ویسے یہ زیادہ اچھا ہے“۔
Ruwaifi' bin Thabit said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'O Ruwaifi', you may live for a long time after me, so tell the people that whoever ties up his beard, or twists it, or hangs an amulet, or cleans himself (after relieving himself) with animal dung or bones, Muhammad has nothing to do with him.'

رویفع بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے رویفع! شاید میرے بعد تمہاری عمر لمبی ہو، لہٰذا تم لوگوں کو بتا دینا کہ جس نے کر اپنی داڑھی میں گرہ لگائی یا گھوڑے کے گلے میں تانت ڈالی ( کہ نظر نہ لگے ) یا کسی چوپائے کے گوبر یا ہڈی سے استنجاء کیا تو محمد اس سے بری ہیں“۔
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Jews and the Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them and dye your hair.'

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہود و نصاریٰ خضاب نہیں لگاتے، لہٰذا تم ان کی مخالفت کرو اور خضاب لگاؤ“۔
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas, who attributed it to the Prophet [SAW], said: Some people will dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons at the end of time, but they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مرفوعاً روایت ہے کہ
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اخیر زمانے میں کچھ لوگ ایسے ہوں گے جو کبوتر کے پوٹوں کی طرح کالا خضاب لگائیں گے، انہیں جنت کی خوشبو نصیب نہ ہو گی“۔
It was narrated that Jabir said: Abu Quhafah was brought on the Day of the Conquest of Makkah, and his hair and beard were white like the Thaghamah. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Change this with something, but avoid black.'

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
ابوقحافہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو فتح مکہ کے دن لایا گیا، سفیدی میں ان کا سر اور ڈاڑھی دونوں «ثغامہ» کی طرح سفید تھے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس کو کسی اور رنگ سے بدل لو، لیکن کالے رنگ سے دور رہنا“۔
