It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I heard 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, on the Minbar of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], say: 'The prohibition of Khamr was revealed when it was made from five things: From grapes, wheat, barley, dates and honey.'

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ
میں نے عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے منبر پر کہتے سنا: امابعد! جب شراب کی حرمت نازل ہوئی تو یہ اس وقت پانچ چیزوں سے بنتی تھی: انگور، گی ہوں، جو، کھجور اور شہد سے۔
It was narrated that Ibn Sirin said: A man came to Ibn 'Umar and said: 'Our families make drinks for us by soaking (fruits) at night, and in the morning we drink them.' He said: 'I forbid you to drink intoxicants whether in small amounts or large. May Allah bear witness that I forbid you to drink intoxicants whether in small amounts or large. May Allah bear witness that the people of Khaibar used to make drinks by soaking such and such, and they called it such and such but it was Khamr. The people of Fadak used to make drinks by soaking such and such, and they called it such and such but it was Khamr.' And he listed four things, one of which was honey.

عبداللہ بن سیرین کہتے ہیں کہ
ایک شخص نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس آ کر کہا: ہمارے گھر والے ہمارے لیے شام کو شراب بناتے ہیں، جب صبح ہوتی ہے تو ہم پیتے ہیں، وہ بولے: میں تمہیں ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز سے روکتا ہوں، کم ہو یا زیادہ، اور میں تم پر اللہ کو گواہ بناتا ہوں کہ میں تمہیں کم ہو یا زیادہ ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز سے روکتا ہوں، اور میں تم پر اللہ کو گواہ بناتا ہوں کہ خیبر والے فلاں فلاں چیز سے شراب بناتے ہیں اور اسے فلاں فلاں نام دیتے ہیں حالانکہ وہ خمر ( شراب ) ہے، اور اہل فدک فلاں فلاں چیز سے شر اب بناتے ہیں اور اسے فلاں فلاں نام دیتے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ خمر ( شراب ) ہے، یہاں تک کہ انہوں نے چار طرح کی شرابیں گنائیں ان میں سے ایک شہد تھا ۱؎۔
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr.'

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز حرام ہے اور ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز خمر ( شراب ) ہے“۔ حسین کہتے ہیں: امام احمد نے کہا: یہ صحیح حدیث ہے۔
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade soaking (fruits) in Ad-Dubba', Al-Muzaffat, An-Naqir, Al-Hantam, and every intoxicant is unlawful.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کدو کی تونبی، روغنی برتن، لکڑی کے برتن اور ہرے رنگ کے برتن میں نبیذ بنانے سے منع فرمایا، اور فرمایا: ”ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز حرام ہے“۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every drink that intoxicates is unlawful.' Qutaibah (one of the narrators) said: From the Prophet [SAW].

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہر مشروب جو نشہ لائے، حرام ہے“۔
It was narrated from 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that : The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was asked about mead and he said: Every drink that intoxicates is unlawful. This is the wording of Suwaid.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے شہد کی شراب کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہر شراب جو نشہ لائے حرام ہے“۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that : The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was asked about mead and he said: Every drink that intoxicates is unlawful, and mead is made from honey.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that: The Prophet [SAW] was asked about mead and he said: Every drink that intoxicates is unlawful. And mead is a drink made of honey.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے «بتع» ( یعنی شہد کی شراب ) کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہر وہ شراب جو نشہ لائے حرام ہے، اور «بتع» شہد کی نبیذ ہوتا ہے“۔
It was narrated from Abu Burdah that his father said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent Mu'adh and me to Yemen. Mu'adh said: 'You are sending us to a land where the people have many kinds of drinks. What should I drink?' He said: 'Drink, but do not drink any intoxicant.'

ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ
مجھے اور معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یمن بھیجا تو معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: آپ ہمیں ایسی سر زمین میں بھیج رہے رہیں جہاں کے لوگ کثرت سے مشروبات پیتے ہیں، تو میں کیا پیوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ” ( جو چاہو ) پیو لیکن کوئی نشہ لانے والی چیز مت پینا“۔
Al-Aswad bin Shaiban As-Sadusi said: I heard 'Ata' being asked by a man: 'We travel and drinks are offered to us in the marketplaces, and we do not know what kind of vessels they were prepared in.' He said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'It is as I have told you.'

اسود بن شیبان سدوسی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ
میں نے عطا سے سنا ایک شخص نے ان سے پوچھا: ہم لوگ سفر پر نکلتے ہیں تو ہمیں بازاروں میں مشروب نظر آتے ہیں، ہمیں یہ نہیں معلوم ہوتا کہ وہ کن برتنوں میں تیار ہوئے ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہر نشہ لانے والی چیز حرام ہے، انہوں نے ( اپنا سوال ) دہرایا تو انہوں نے کہا: جو چیزیں نشہ لانے والی ہوں وہ سب حرام ہیں، انہوں نے پھر دہرایا تو انہوں نے کہا: جو میں تم سے کہہ رہا ہوں اصل وہی ہے۔
